Born from a love of Rwanda and a life shaped by travel, Beyond Borders Travel was created to help you experience meaningful places, thoughtful planning, and genuine connections. Rwandan by birth and currently preparing to relocate home full-time, I plan every trip with firsthand, lifelong knowledge of Rwanda.

Having studied tourism and lived across different countries and cultures, I've learned that travel isn't really about the destination. It's the memories you create, the people you meet, and the stories you bring home.

Best Time to Visit for Gorilla Trekking

Rwanda's dry seasons, June to September and December to February, offer the easiest trekking conditions with less mud and clearer trails. Permits are limited, so booking several months ahead matters more than the season itself.

What to Pack for Rwanda

Layer for altitude: Kigali sits at about 1,500 meters, and the Volcanoes region is cooler still. Waterproof layers, sturdy hiking boots, and a good day pack matter more here than typical safari gear.

A Day in Kigali: What to Expect

Hilly, walkable in parts, and calm compared to many capitals. A typical day might mix the Genocide Memorial, a coffee shop in Kimihurura, and an evening at a rooftop bar overlooking the city's hills.
